CIVITAS Studio prepared the plans and design guidelines for the mixed use heart of Rouse Hill. The Town Centre, consisting of a Town Centre Core (Phase One) and a Northern Precinct (Phase Two), includes a series of integrated public open spaces, a community and civic focus, pedestrian-friendly streets, and a variety of shopping and employment options.
Key points of the Town Centre include:
- 5-minute walk to high speed transit;
- A diverse hierarchy of open spaces including a town square, waterfront square, town green, and town park;
- Connected, walkable, active plazas and streets lined with fine-grain retail, restaurants, and cafes at ground level;
- A water sensitive approach that integrates eco-streets, rain gardens, and stormwater management into the overall open space system;
- A mix of apartments, townhouses and seniors housing, and;
- A variety of office uses, a community centre, and public library.
