CIVITAS was invited to participate in an inclusive “Co-opetition” process with two other leading design firms to generate exciting and innovative ideas for a new community in southeast Calgary.

Rangeview is envisioned as a series of differentiated precincts that build on the light rail transit investment in Seton Town Centre, the rural landscape legacy of the area, and the visual connection with the Bow River Valley and Rocky Mountains.  An open space network integrates the whole plan and its kit-of-parts, resulting in clearly identifiable urban forms, creating a powerful placemaking gesture that would establish an enduring unique identity for this part of Calgary, and celebrating the last urban footprint edge against the prairie.
