CIVITAS was commissioned to conceive a master plan for a new community and town center in Hunan Province, China.  Accommodating over 6,000 people within a river mountain setting, the design also demonstrates the Sponge Cities initiative, a national policy for green communities and the significant absorption and reuse of rainwater in urban areas.

Out of the success of the Al Gharbia 2030 Regional Plan, CIVITAS partnered with Otak Inc. to develop the 2030 Master Plan for Mirfa, a coastal village of 15,000 people.

CIVITAS was invited to participate in an inclusive “Co-opetition” process with two other leading design firms to generate exciting and innovative ideas for a new community in southeast Calgary.

After the success of Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 process, CIVITAS was invited by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council to develop the initial design vision for the Capital City District into a Master Plan for the proposed centre of the United Arab Emirates government.

The Xindeng City Centre will be part of a 30,000 population expansion of the existing City of Xindengshen.

The Yan Ju Cultural Village incorporates a variety of cultural and recreational attractions, along with an integrated community that sits lightly in an environmentally beautiful landscape.

CIVITAS partnered with Perkins + Will winning an international competition for the master plan of this sustainable new community in the heart of Edmonton on a former airport site.

Plan Al Ain 2030 Urban Structure Framework Plan was developed by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council to establish a 20-year guiding plan for the City of Al Ain as it develops from a current population of 200,000 to a proposed one million people.
