Michele Alborg

Senior Urban Designer

As Senior Urban Designer and Project Manager, Michele combines her creative, visionary design skills and project leadership abilities to produce innovative urban design solutions. As project lead, she is responsible for day-to-day management, communication, and project coordination, conceptual design and development, workshops, and production delivery. Since joining CIVITAS in 2003, Michele has focused on urban design, new community and urban code / guidelines projects.
With over 17 years experience, she has managed numerous complex national and international projects including Rouse Hill Northern Precinct and Newcastle Vision Plan. Prior to CIVITAS she practiced as a registered landscape architect in San Diego, USA
and Sydney, Australia. Her landscape architectural background lends an understanding of site and context, and a sensitivity to
place in her design approach. Michele has experience with the full spectrum of the urban design process from initial vision plans that explore project character and intent; to preliminary land use density re-allocations, urban form that emphasizes walkable and compact community structure, multi-modal connections, open space considerations, housing typologies, and great streets; to the final implementation of the master plan through graphic-oriented design guidelines. Michele’s experience includes 2 years (2010-2012) as Senior Urban Designer at CIVITAS’ Sydney office - overseeing managing and leading several Australia-based urban design and guidelines projects.
